Contemporary Finnish Graphic Art
NordicHouse organized in December 2007 an exhibition of graphics of the priced Finnish artists, presenting the achievements of contemporary graphic art in Finland.
The exhibition comprises 40 works of Outi Peippo, Raimo Kanerva, Janne Laine, Virve Lilja, Tapani Mikkonen, Lars Holmstrom, Annu Vertanen, Peltonen Tyuukka, Ulla Virta, Elina Hannula, Leena Golnik, Juha Tervo, Mina Sora, Piia Lehti, Jani Jarvinen, Irma Tonteri, Palvi Hanni, Paivi Somppi, Reivo Karkkainen and Markus Lampinen. The idea behind the exhibition makes broad reference to the intellectual trends in the development and types of contemporary printmaking techniques.
The official opening ceremony had a place in Nordic House 23rd December 2007. During the above ceremony, the honorary guests, representatives of local companies, institutions and administration, as well as media and professionals participated in the opening of the exhibition. The guest of honour was Ambassador of Finland His Excellency Mr Hannu Hämäläinen.
