Meeting with Pia-Kristina Garde

On May 20, 2009 NordicHouse organized in cooperation with the publisher Czarne a meeting with the Swedish writer Pia-Kristina Garde in the Jewish Museum Galicja. Her newest book  ”Testimony of sentenced to death - sixty years later" describes the destiny of people, that were saved from the concentration camps.

In autumn 1945 a book ”Testimony of sentenced to death" was published in Sweden. From hundreds of interviews and questionnaires the writers  Gunhilda and Einar Tegen selected 200 survivors from concentration camps, with the purpose to convey the memory of the terrible crimes, that were commited. But although it is more than 60 years since the war is over, there are still unanswered questions. Pia-Kristina Garde has decided to seek participants from the study, to hear how their lives have elapsed since.
