A lecture by prof. Jan Gehl (DK)
On May 10, 2010 NordicHouse organized together with the publishing firm RAM and Krakow City Hall a lecture of the world famous Danish architect and urban theorist, prof. Jan Gehl “Life between buildings”. This lecture was at the same time a promotion of his famous book, which was translated into more than 20 languages “Living between buildings”.
During his lecture prof. Gehl answered questions as:
- how to design cities for people and not for cars?
- how to motivate people to leave their houses and strengthen relations to their
neighbours?
- what to do so that the public room could become more attractive for users?
During his visit in Krakow prof. Gehl met the members of the city council and the institutions responsible for the city development in Krakow. He stayed at the NH Apartments in NordicHouse.
